Burning Man 2026 Announcement
Thank you all so much for supporting DISTRIKT since 2010!
After much reflection, we have decided to take a year off from Burning Man in 2026. This will allow us to refocus our fundraising efforts, as well as upgrade our camp infrastructure and do much needed maintenance for an even better DISTRIKT experience when we return in 2027.
We also took a year off in 2024, returning to the Playa last year refreshed, re-dedicated, and stronger than ever. This is our intention for coming back in 2027.
DISTRIKT remains and has always been in good standing with Burning Man. But our Kore team made the decision to accept Burning Man’s offer to take this year off while carrying our camp’s good standing into 2027.
For more than two decades, DISTRIKT (since 2010 and formerly The Deep End 2001-2008) has always been a grassroots organization, relying on community donations and event fundraising revenue to produce our experiences on and off the playa. With a changed post-pandemic economy, inflation and the rising costs of operating year-after-year at Burning Man, we feel it's essential for us to take this time to refocus our fundraising strategy. Additionally, given the weather conditions during our past two years in attendance (2023 & 2025), and the harsh conditions of the playa in general, we feel it's important to take this time to make necessary repairs to our camp infrastructure, ensuring that we come back bigger, better and cleaner in 2027!

Success Stories
SF MARIN FOOD BANK
DISTRIKT has donated to the SF Marin Food bank to help cover the costs of sourcing and distributing healthy meals to individuals and families in need. SF-Marin Food Bank believes in addressing hunger head-on. Their efforts focus on the immediate distribution of food while simultaneously working on long-term strategies to empower neighbors in need.
MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION
DISTRIKT has been annually donating to Make-A-Wish® who's vision to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness. In the United States and its territories, on average, a wish is granted every 34 minutes. We believe a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us and inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
DISTRIKT has worked with Habitat for Humanity in San Francisco that works towards our vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.

BURNING MAN ART GRANTS
DISTRIKT has completed three Burning Man Arts Grants to date. A giant robot, a corkscrew and and stage. Black Rock City Honoraria support artists in creating art for the annual Burning Man event in Black Rock City, one of the biggest, brightest and most innovative art experience in the world.

DISTRIKT has donated to the California Fire Foundation that provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect.
